Joseph Laughlin

Joseph P. Laughlin, 73, of Duluth, entered eternal life on Monday, Jan. 23, 2012, in Banner Boswell Memorial Hospital, Sun City, Ariz., with his loving family at his side.Joseph Philip Laughlin was born Feb. 23, 1938, in Youngstown, Ohio, the son of Edwin and Rosemary (Doherty) Laughlin and grew up in Buffalo, N.Y. On Dec. 27, 1958, he married the love of his life, Catherine Dolly Fahey. Together they raised six children. Joe was a caring husband and father. He will be remembered fondly by us all for his devotion to his wife, Dolly, and for the generous nurturing of his family.He loved to play golf and was a member at Ridgeview Country Club and Sun City Country Club. He retired from ConAgra Company after 35 years of service.He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Dolly; five sons, Joseph (Verree) Jr. of Phoenix, Ariz., Shawn (Jill) of Grand Rapids, Mike (Diane) and Kevin of Duluth, and Robert of Atlanta, Ga.; and one daughter, Colleen (Greg) Mielke of Duluth; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Eileen Turner of Buffalo, N.Y., Julie Gallagher of Incline Village, Nev., and Cathy Levesque of Salinas, Calif.VISITATION: 4-7 p.m. today, Jan. 29, in Dougherty Funeral Home, 600 E. Second St., Duluth. Visitation resumes at 10 until the 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial Monday, Jan. 30, in St. Johns Catholic Church, 4230 St. Johns Ave., Duluth.
