Karl Miketin
June 22, 1926 — December 26, 2013
Karl Miketin, 87, of Duluth died, Thursday December 26, 2013 in his daughter's home with his family by his side. He was born in Bosnia to Ivan and Margaret (Paluh) Miketin on June 22, 1926. In August of 1970 he came to the United States with his wife and children to create a better life.
Karl was employed as a butcher processing meat and a landlord for the families' rental properties in Duluth.
Karl was a member of St. Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Jozef and Frank; and his sister, Maria.
Survivors include his wife, Anna of Duluth; his children, Jozef (Dolly) Miketin; Frances (Anton) Jurkic and Anton (Jill) Miketin all of Duluth; nine grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; his sister, Anna Drozdek of Australia; Katarina Karlovic; Michele Drozdek and John Miketin all of Portland, OR.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 pm Thursday Jan. 2, 2014 in the Dougherty Funeral Home Chapel. A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, Jan. 3, 2014 in St. Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church.
Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery in Duluth, MN.
