Katharina Jaros, 87, of the Lighthouse, Cloquet, formerly of Duluth died Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at Interfaith Health Center, Carlton, MN with her family by her side. Katharina was born August 2, 1926 in Bezdan, Yugoslavia to John and Juliana Engart. She married Karl Jaros on August 23, 1947 and they made Duluth their home in 1951.
Katharina was a member of St. Mary Star of the Sea; she loved to entertain. garden, cook and bake.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her grandson, Kenneth Weileder.
Katharina is survived by her husband, Karl; children, Monika Weileder, Hilda Schmidt and John (Lisa) Jaros; grandchildren, Juliana (James) Lundberg, Katharine (Zach) DeVore, John (Haddie) Schmidt, Daniel and Elizabeth Jaros; cousins, Katharina Barth of Germany and Maria Klemm, Ill; four great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be Friday beginning at 9:30am with Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30am at St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, 325 E 3rd St. Duluth Burial at Calvary Cemetery. Arrangements by Dougherty Funeral Home, Duluth. (218) 727-3555.
