Katherine “Kathy” Makowski Hon

Katherine “Kathy” Makowski Hon passed away on December 3,2019 with family by her side. Kathy was born on March 17, 1947 to Roy and Lorraine (Plets) Makowski. She attended St. Anthony’s School and graduated from Cathedral High School in 1965. After working many tax seasons, she retired from H&R Block to devote time to her family, knitting, baking and volunteering at Church.

Kathy married the love of her life, Paul “Ron” Hon and they spent the last 50 years living in faith together. She cherished her children, Michael, Julie (Mark) Castleman and Dan (Rosanna); and grandchildren, Justin, Ashley, Lindsay, Olivia, Levi and Jacob.Kathy was blessed with loving siblings, John (Nancy- decd) Makowski, Joanne (Thomas) Kozlowski, Patty (Kelly) Nelson, Carol Kosbab, Betty (David) Eklund, and Laurie (Robert) Riegel; a dear mother-in- law Evelyn; and many brother & sister in-laws, nieces, nephews and other relatives. Now, Kathy has been reunited with the many family members that have gone before her. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, Dec. 9 at 11am at St. John’s Catholic Church, 4230 St. Johns Ave, Duluth, MN. with visitation beginning one hour prior.
