Kathleen Mae (Stebner) McDonald 90, of Duluth passed away on Monday, December 21, 2020 at St Mary’s, Essentia Health of Covid-19.
Kathy was born in Duluth, MN on December 9th, 1930 to Frederick and Mary (Bowe) Stebner. She was a life-long resident of the Duluth Heights neighborhood and a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. She graduated from Central High School, Duluth, and went on to marry Charles (Charlie) McDonald, celebrating their 71st wedding anniversary in March.
She worked for a number of years for the Glass Block store and later as a Secretary for ISD 709. She was a member of the +55 club and the auxiliary at St. Joseph’s Church.
She enjoyed doing handiwork, especially crocheting, jigsaw puzzles, and listening to the family’s band. But her favorite times were with family, especially playing games. She is preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Mary Stebner, her son David, and her grandson Douglas McDonald.
Kathy is survived by her husband, Charlie and 3 children; Terry (Lynne) and Linda (Ron) Vik of Duluth, Steve (Mary) of North Carolina, and daughter-in-law Joann McDonald, also 8 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great-grandchildren; two sisters; Elaine Parnham of Littlefork, MN and Lucille Korpi of Minnetonka, MN as well as many nieces and nephews.
