Kay Beatrice Peterson (Mullin), age 82 of St. Paul, Minnesota, formerly of Duluth, Minnesota, passed away on Monday, March 18, 2019.
Kay grew up in the Morgan Park neighborhood and often spoke of her wonderful childhood surrounded with family and friends. After graduating high school Kay received training in radiology and was an x-ray technician at St Mary's hospital. Kay would later continue her service in the medical field with volunteer work at the St. Mary’s Hospital. She also volunteered as a guide at the Glensheen Mansion and enjoy giving tours of the house museum. Kay was a devoted member of the Catholic Church and attended Church of the Blessed Margaret Mary, St. Michael's and Holy Rosary.
A selfless mother who always put her children first and never thought of raising a family as a sacrifice but a blessing. She always made sure her five children were able to attend after school events and was always their biggest fans. She also enjoyed spending time at the kitchen table and helping her kids complete their homework after school. One of Kay's legacies will be a loving mom to her five children and will be deeply missed.
She married Ronald H. Peterson on October 12, 1957, at the Basilica of St. Mary's in Minneapolis. Kay and Ron enjoyed dancing and entertaining with friends and was a loving & devoted wife until he passed away in 2000.
Kay is survived and will be missed by her five children. Scott, Linda (Randall), Ritchie, Kathleen (David) Gabel and Colleen (Thomas J. Menssen), eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday March 22, 2019 from 10AM until the 11AM Mass of Christian Burial at Cathedral of Our Lady of the Rosary. 2801 E. 4th Street, Duluth, MN 55802. Burial will be in Oneota Cemetery. Arrangements by Dougherty Funeral Home. 600 E. 2nd St. Duluth, MN 55805. 218-727-3555.
