Kenneth Larson

Kenneth Earl Larson, 72, of Sarasota, FL, formerly of Duluth, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday December 12, 2015 in his residence. He was born in Prentice, WI on May 11, 1943 to Earl and Genevieve Larson. He graduated from Prentice High School in 1961 and earned an Associate of Arts Degree from North Central Technical College in Business Administration with a major in Marketing. Ken served six years in Army National Guard. Ken had managed the JCPenny Store in Duluth, worked at the Lake Superior Agency, and had been co-owner of Avis of Duluth car rental. He was a former member of Skyline Rotary Club, Ducks unlimited, and a member of Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church in Sarasota, Fl.
Ken enjoyed watching all sports, avid golfer, and enjoyed time spent with his family and friends.
Ken was preceded in death by his parents, and the mother of his children Karla Larson.
Ken is survived by his children Debbie Scanlon of Duluth, MN, Daun (Bill) Vukelich of Esko, MN and Scott (Tina) Larson of Marquette, MI, grandchildren Justin, Jesse, Matthew, Ava, Camden, and Tatum, brother Jerry (Sally) Larson of Rhinelander, WI, sister Marie Fredrich of Rhinelander and a nephew Paul Chad Fredrich.
Visitation will be held on Saturday from 10AM until the 11AM Memorial Service in Dougherty Funeral Home, 600 E. 2nd Street, Duluth, MN 55811. 218-727-3555. Burial will be in Oneota Cemetery. Military Honors will be accorded by the Duluth Honor Guard. Arrangements by Dougherty Funeral Home.
