Kevin Pederson

Kevin R. Pederson, age 66, of Duluth, died Saturday, Aug. 20, 2016 at Chris Jensen Health & Rehabilitation Center.  He was born in Duluth Nov. 18, 1949 to Raymond C. and Mary E. (Curnow) Pederson.  He was a 1968 graduate of Denfeld High School.  Kevin was a Vietnam Army veteran and received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Two Overseas Bars, Expert Marksman (Rifle) and the Bronze Star.  Kevin married Phyllis A. Forsberg in 1975.  He worked as an electrician/electronics technician for Inland Steel, ME International, DM&IR and ISD # 709.  He was an active member of the Northland Vietnam Veterans Association where he served on the NVVA Color Guard and helped raise money for Duluth’s Veterans Memorial.  He coached his children and many others in hockey and football.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Kevin is survived by his wife Phyllis, sons Corwin (Christa) and Justin (Kelly) Pederson; grandchildren Rayne and Ruby; siblings:  Winnie (Kendall) Ferminich, Debbie (Tom) Houle, Ross (Wendy) Pederson, Mary Kay (Jim) Morgan, Kim LeBoeuf, and Paul (Kelly) Pederson.

A gathering of family and friends will be Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2016 at noon until the 1 PM memorial service at Asbury United Methodist Church, 6822 Grand Ave.  Military honors will be accorded by the Duluth Honor Guard.  Arrangements by Dougherty Funeral Home, Duluth, 727-3555.
