Larry Steffen

Larry Lynn Steffen, 73, of Duluth, died Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at Essentia Health - St. Mary’s Medical Center.  He was born in Renton, WA on March 22, 1945 to Frederick William and Clara (Stockwell) Steffen.  Larry was a graduate of Deer River High School.  He was a Viet Nam era Army veteran, serving in Germany.  He married Dona Lou Steffen on February 25, 1970 in Saginaw, MN. Larry was a mechanic and had worked for Proctor Motors, and for the Hermantown School district for fifteen years.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting and auto mechanics.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.  Larry is survived by his wife Dona; his sons:  Larry (Helen) Solberg of Henning, MN, Peter Solberg of Virginia, MN, David Solberg of Duluth and Randy (Aiza) Steffen of San Antonio, TX; his daughters:  Paula Lyons of Duluth and Sharon Eggen of Virginia, MN; and his brother Bill (Marlene) Steffen of Deer River, MN.  VISIATION:  Wednesday, July 25, 2018 from 10 a.m. until noon, followed by the funeral service at noon at Dougherty Funeral Home, Duluth.  Burial will be at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery – Duluth at a later date.
