Lee Raymond Steinmeier   March 7, 1942 – December 19, 2017, Duluth MN.  Lee Raymond Steinmeier, 75, died Tuesday, December 19, 2017 in his home.  He was born in Montevideo, MN, moved to Grand Rapids, MN where he graduated from high school and then to Bemidji, MN where he graduated from Bemidji State College.

He was an avid Duplicate Bridge player and was awarded Gold Life Master (2500 points) status earlier in 2017.  He loved to discuss hands after each game with his bridge partner of many years Dianne Carr.  He also was an avid reader and could hardly wait for the Bridge Bulletin to arrive each month.  The monthly magazine was published by the ACBL, American Contract Bridge League.  He also enjoyed golfing.  Lee owned and ran Lee’s Pizza for over 20 years, until he retired and never looked back.

Lee was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Delores Steinmeier, sisters Susan Hanna; and Carol Gildersleeve and Nephew Tony’s son Sammy.

He is survived by sons, Paul, of Charlotte, NC and John, of Clearwater, FL; Brother David (Sandy), and their children Tim (Brenda), Christine (Aaron), Becca, and Joanna; Sister Becky (Craig) Martineau and their children Aaron (Melissa), Nickolas, and Avery Sue; Nathan (Sarah), Avah and Jake; and Tony (Haley) Layne, Emma and Max.  He is also survived by sister Carol’s children Mark, Greg, Lori, and Christen Rae; and brother-in-law Tom Hanna and their children, Tom (Kim), Kim (Rick), Lisa (Todd), and Kasey (Craig).

There will be a blessing of his ashes at Park Hill Cemetery and a celebration of his life in the new year.
