Leslie B. "$nake" Larson, age 68, of Duluth, passed away on Friday, January 18, 2013 at St. Luke's Hospital. He was born April 18, 1944 in Duluth, Minnesota, the son of Leslie Sr. and Edna Larson. He attended Park Point Elementary School and graduated from Duluth Central High School in 1962. He later attended Electrical Trade School in Duluth. He married Sharon "Shari" Finck on December 8, 2003.
Les belonged to IBEW Local 242 and worked for various electric companies until in 1989 he started Automation Electric, which he ran until 1998. From 1998 until his retirement in 2009, he worked at the Duluth Labor Temple.
Les enjoyed fishing and hunting and belonged to the United Northern Sportsmen.
He was also an amateur radio operator and belonged to the Arrowhead Radio Amateur Club. His specialty was Morse Code and his call signal was AB0GT.
He also enjoyed ballroom dancing, which is how he met his wife, Shari. He also enjoyed watching old movies.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Les is survived by his wife, Shari, and several cousins.
Visitation: 1pm, Wednesday, January 23, 2013 until the 2:00 p.m. memorial service at Dougherty Funeral Home, 600 East Second Street, Duluth. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Salvation Army. Arrangements by Dougherty Funeral Home (218) 727-3555.
