Linda Ann Malm

Born on January 1, 1950 in Duluth and died  at Benedictine Senior Center, Marywood Unit on October 6, 2024. She was the eldest daughter of Angus H. Malm and June J. Malm.

She attended the Duluth Public School System, graduating from Duluth Central High School in 1968. She Graduated from UMD with a BS Degree in Biology and teaching. She also graduated from Mankato State University with a BS degree in Nursing, and worked as Registered Nurse for 9 years at Miller-Dwan and St. Mary's Hospital. She later graduated from UMD with a Master's Degree in Industrial Safety & Industrial Hygienist.

She was employed by Federal OSHA in Denver Co, and also worked for Minnesota OSHA in St. Paul. She transferred to the Duluth OSHA office and worked there until her retirement in 2010. It is rumored that she had a dispute with St. Peter at the pearly gates about the stairway to Heaven not having sufficient handrails.

During her younger years, she enjoyed horseback riding. She was also a Girl Scout Counselor and was a member of the First Lutheran Quilter's Guild. She enjoyed Quilting and made many wonderful quilts for family members, friends, and relatives.

She thoroughly enjoyed the many dogs she has had during her lifetime.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Angus and June (Anderson) Malm; brother, John Malm; niece, Christa Kinsey. She is survived by her sister, Susan (Donald) Kinsey; brother, David (Brenda) Malm; sister-in-law, Maryann Malm; nephews, Jason (Kandi) Malm, Nathan Kinsey; great-nephew, Jonathon; great-niece, Alexis. She also leaves behind many other relatives and friends.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11am on Friday, October 18, 2024 at First Lutheran Church, 1100 E Superior St, Duluth with a Visitation beginning at 10am. Burial at Park Hill Cemetery. Arrangements by Dougherty Funeral Home, 218-727-3555.
