Lloyd J. Bauer, 75, of Duluth, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, February 27, 2015 at Essentia Health, St. Mary's Hospital. He was born in Carson, ND to Reinhold and Laurintena Bauer. Lloyd was a proud, hard-working man and was rewarded with a fulfilling career spanning 56 years. He worked at Tri-Steel Manufacturing, where he received accolades for his invention of the sewing machine mount, feed, and cutter for produce bags. He continued his prestigious career at Oslo Potato Packers, Inc., and retired (three times) from Tri-Campbell Farms at the age of 72. Although his work was his hobby, his family was his passion. Lloyd is dearly loved and famous for his fun-loving personality, his fierce commitment to God and family, and loyalty to his many friends. He loved dancing, baking, cooking, gardening, fishing, traveling, camping and the sunlight on his face.
Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his best friend, and wife Beverly of 58 years, children Joyce (Steve) Mireault, Brenda Bauer (Keith Hepner), and Randall (Heather) Bauer, 11 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, 1 brother Francis, 3 sisters, Bernice Cain (Gerald), Charlotte Haugland (Bernie) and Georgene Bosma (Bob), his beloved extended family of brothers and sisters through marriage, and many loving nieces and nephews and man's best friend King George.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the 5 p.m. Memorial Service at Dougherty Funeral Home 600 E. 2nd Street, Duluth, MN, 55805. The funeral services will be on March 7, 1 p.m., Sharon Lutheran Church, Grand Forks, ND.
