Lois Deutsch

Lois Marie Deutsch, age 92, of Duluth, MN passed away on Saturday November 18, 2017 in Duluth, MN.   She was born on September 17, 1925 in Duluth, Minnesota to Romeo Nicholas Deutsch and Marian Alexina Chaput Deutsch.  Raised in Duluth, she was a graduate of Denfeld High School.  After High School, Lois worked at the five and dime store, McGregor & Soderstrom’s clothing store and for a local podiatrist.

Lois was a member of the Catholic Church and attended Our Lady of Mercy on Park Point having served as a Eucharistic Minister and most recently at St. Mary Star of the Sea.   Hobbies include knitting, crocheting, crafts and gardening.  She often volunteered her time at the Bayshore Nursing Home.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents, Romeo Deutsch and Marian Chaput Deutsch. She also was preceded by her sister Margie and brothers Thomas and Robert.

Although she had no children of her own, her brother Robert had 7 children (Deborah, Mark, Kevin, Gregg, Lynn, Teri and Cheryl) and 23 grandchildren; her brother Thomas had 6 children (Wayne, Thomas, Diane, Kim, Daniel and James) and 15 grandchildren.

Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday November 21, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Calvary Cemetery, 4820 Howard Gnesen Road, Duluth, MN 55803.  In lieu of flowers,  memorial donations to St. Mary Star of the Sea, or to the donor's choice are preferred by the family.  Family and friends can sign online memorial guestbook at www.dfhduluth.com.  Arrangements by Dougherty Funeral Home, Duluth, 218-7273555.
