Lois Patricia (Fanaselle) Peterson, 82, of Duluth, formerly of Silver Bay, passed away September 4, 2014, in Duluth. She was born in Duluth April 12, 1932, to Raphael and Therese (Ringhofer) Fanaselle. She graduated from Duluth Cathedral High School. On November 8, 1952 she married Raymond Peterson in St. Peter's church in Duluth and celebrated over 60 years of marriage. Lois and Ray lived in Silver Bay for 30 years before returning to Duluth. Lois was an avid reader and a member of Animal Allies.
She was preceded in death by an infant son Robert, her parents, brothers, Ralph Fanaselle and Ronald Fanaselle and sisters, Dorothy Aureillo and Adele Davey and her husband, Ray who died on February 6th.
She is survived by her children, Barbara (Mark) Zapp of Duluth, Larry Peterson of Duluth and Beth (Loren Rakowsky) Daigle of Cameron, WI; three grandchildren, Andrew Zapp and Michael (Tammy) Zapp of Phoenix, AZ, Bethany Daigle of
Cameron, Wi; four great-grandchildren, Harrison, Ashton, Ethan and Gavin of Phoenix, AZ ; sisters, Lorraine Merkel of Oak Lawn, IL and Marianne "Dolly" Gleason of Duluth/Mesa, AZ and brother Raymond Fanaselle of Las Vegas; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and good neighbors.
A rosary recitation will begin at 10:30am, with funeral services at 11am Wednesday, at St. John's Church, 4230 St. John's Ave., Duluth, MN 55803. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Arrangements by Dougherty Funeral Home, Duluth, (218) 727-3555.
