Lorraine Miskowski

Lorraine H. Miskowski, 87, of Hermantown, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, August 2, 2015 at Essentia Health St. Mary's Medical Center after a short illness.
Lorraine had a love for life and especially enjoyed family gatherings. She was very close to her cousins, sending birthday cards, phone chats or visits. She enjoyed her role as matriarch.
She had multiple interests: cooking, reading, painting, rosemaling and especially re-doing her house. She worked several places; she sewed casket linings, Elliot Meats, Arnold Hanke Upholstery and J Carlson as their seamstress. She served many years on Hermantown Credit Union supervisory committee, Long Lake Assoc. and Grace Lutheran Church circle.
She spent many a summer night on the pontoon boat at Long Lake, Makinen, with accordions and friends.
Lorraine was preceded in death by her husband Walter; and her sons John, David and Mark.
Lorraine is survived by her daughter Jean (Ernest) Kauppi, her son Gary (Sheryl) Miskowski, and her faithful companion Bootsie.
Visitation: 5-7pm Wednesday, August 5th. at Dougherty Funeral Home. Visitation continues on Thursday from 10am until the 11am funeral service at Grace Lutheran Church. Burial will be at Oneota Cemetery. Arrangements by Dougherty Funeral Home, 6-00 E. Second St., Duluth, 727-3555.
