LuVerne F. Sandahl, age 88, of Duluth, passed away on Thursday, May 23, 2013 at Solvay Hospice House, Duluth.
LuVerne Breiland was born October 22, 1924 in Sandstone, Minnesota, the daughter of Elmer O. and Frances E. (Domning) Breiland. She married Carl K. Sandahl and they made their home in Duluth.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister Norma Cannon and son-in-law, Bill Cook.
LuVerne lives on through her daughters, Sandra (Greg) Wallgren and Nancy Cook, grandchildren, Amber (Jay) Westerbur Brian (Stephanie) Wallgren, Jeff Cook and Jennifer (Mike) Sacra, brother, Donald (Patricia) Breiland and sister Delores (Ben) Thoreson, three great-grandchildren including one baby due in August.
Our family wishes to express our most heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Whitcomb, Mary Beth, Dr. Shoeps, Dr. Ohaju, nursing staff on surgical ICU and Neuro step-down unit at Essentia-St. Mary's, staff at Keystone Bluffs, and all who cared for our mom at Solvay Hospice House. You are all angels on earth.
Visitation: 5-7pm, Saturday, May 25, 2013 at Dougherty Funeral Home, 600 E. 2nd St., Duluth. Funeral services 3pm, Sunday, May 26, 2013 at Kenwood Lutheran Church, 324 W. Cleveland St., Duluth.
