Madelyn Johns

Madelyn Therese Johns, 84, of Duluth, died on Wednesday, April 17, 2013 in the Benedictine Health Center in Duluth. She was born on July 11, 1928 in Montevideo, MN to Fred and Pearl (Peters) Mooney.
Madelyn married Alfred Johns on Sept. 14, 1957 in Duluth, MN.
She was a member of St. Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church, its Alter and Rosary Society, Legion of Mary and was the first head coordinator of Holy Innocent Perpetual Adoration Chapel.
Madelyn was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Alfred, and her son, Stephen.
She is survived by her children, Paul (Tracy) Johns of Eagan, MN; Michael (Kathy) Johns of Eagan, MN; Mary (Russ Kuehner) Johns of Waunakee, WI; her daughter in-law, Jodie Johns of Burnsville, MN; her brother, Merle (Dorothy) Mooney of Cheyenne, WY; 11 grandchildren and two great grandchild.
A visitation will be held from 5-7 pm with a prayer service and rosary at 6:00 pm on Thursday, April 18, 2013 in the Dougherty Funeral Home Chapel and will continue on Friday April 19, 2013 from 9:00 am until the 10:00 am Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church.
Memorials may be directed to St. Mary Star of the Sea Adoration Chapel in Madelyn's name.
Interment will be in the Calvary Cemetery in Duluth.
