Marcella "Mickey" Kozlowski

Marcella "Mickey" (Simney) Kozlowski, 99, passed away peacefully on Thursday March 22 with loving family by her side. A beloved wife, sister, mother, and grandmother, Mickey was born to Joseph and Anna Simney on September 26, 1918 in Duluth. She grew up in Duluth's West End and attended St. Peter and Paul Polish School and Denfeld High School. She married the love of her life, Roman Kozlowski in October of 1947, and they settled in Woodland to raise their five children. A longtime active member of St. John's Catholic Parish and the Woodland community, Mickey enjoyed singing in the choir, knitting and crocheting donations for the bazaar and volunteering to help with any event. An avid bowler, she proudly rolled strikes into her 80"s, and was always tickled to recount the day she bowled a "600" Series! A fun loving spirit, she was always thrilled to play cards and games or enjoy a coffee with her many special friends who were touched by her kindness, loyalty, pleasant demeanor and bright smile.

She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Vince, Raymond, Marjorie, Lucille and Mae; and her devoted husband, Roman. We are comforted to imagine them reunited together. She is survived by her children, Judith (Richard Blin), Thomas (Joanne), Debra (Lance Gvesrude), William (Cindy) and Robert (Marlene Typpo); sister, Joan (John) King; brother, Vic Simney; adoring grandchildren, Nathan, Benjamin, Alexandra, Natalie, Laura, and Samantha; great-grandchildren, Sydney, Ines, Declan, and Graceylon; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday March 28, 2018 from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. John's Catholic Church, 3 W. Chisholm St., Duluth, MN 55803.
