Marcelle, Marcee, Oestreich, 83, Duluth, died peacefully March 22 at home with members of her family by her side, after being diagnosed with lung cancer recently. She was born Aug. 29, 1928 in Gilbert, Minn. to Otto and Theresa Lindholm. Marcee was a 1946 graduate of Duluth Denfeld High School and married William J. Oestreich, Jr. in 1950. She was a charter member of St. Benedicts Catholic Church in Duluth. Marcee played a number of roles in her life - daughter, sister, friend and spouse, Cub Scout den mother, Kenwood Elementary school cook and bowling partner, - but the one that she cherished the most was the one of mother. Her wisdom, guidance, patience and positive attitude made us all better people. In her younger years, Marcee loved to dance and always has had a love for music and people. Marcee was preceded in death by her grandparents, Otto and Linda Lindholm; parents, Otto and Theresa Lindholm; husband, William J. Oestreich, Jr.; brother, Ron Lindholm; and granddaughter, Joey Lynn Oestreich. She is survived by her seven children, Patrick (Colleen) Oestreich, Hibbing, Larry Oestreich, Duluth, Linda (Todd) Anderson, Deerwood, Barbara (Thomas) Murray, Anoka, Karl (Theresa Oestreich), Eagan, David Oestreich, Eagan, Mark (Vicki) Oestreich, Duluth; 17 grandchildren; nine great grandchildren. VISITATION: 10 a.m. Monday, March 26, until the 11 a.m. funeral Mass in St. Benedicts Catholic Church, Duluth, followed by burial at Sunrise Memorial Park, Hermantown; and then lunch at St. Benedicts.
