Marcie Wheat

Marcie R. Wheat, age 80, passed away peacefully Monday, September 25, 2017, in Sioux City, Iowa, where she was living in an assisted living facility while in the care of her older brother Don.  Marcie was bom July 17, 1937 in Western Springs, IL.  She was the fourth child of Leonard and Gertrude Wheat’s five children.  Marcie attended Duluth schools and graduated from Duluth Central H.S. in 1955. She attended the U of Minnesota Duluth for 2 years before transferring to the main U of M campus where she acquired her degree in Occupational Therapy in 1960. Her occupation took her to her first job in San Diego and later on she moved up to the Los Angeles area working with the school district there.  After retirement she moved back to Duluth  in 1988 where she purchased a home in Lakeside. Marcie was known for her light-hearted disposition and she very much enjoyed Walt Disney characters. She loved her home and dogs and spent many hours working in her large back yard making it beautiful.  Marcie was a member of the Duluth Bible Church.  She is preceded in death by her adopted daughter Angela.  Marcie is survived by 2 brothers Don (Toni) of Souix City, IA and Dave (Ginger) of Duluth and an older sister Dorette Larson of Duluth.   Visitation:  Sunday, October 1, 2017 from 3 PM until the 4 PM funeral service at Duluth Bible Church, 201 W.
