Margaret E. Bradley, age 95, of Duluth, passed away on Saturday, September 15, 2012 at Benedictine Health Center, Duluth.
Margaret Sharpless was born February 16, 1917 in Bessemer, Michigan, the daughter of Albert and Edith (Langdon) Sharpless. She grew up in Ramsey, Michigan and graduated from Bessemer High School. Margaret attended Gogebic Community College for two years and then attended St. Luke's School of Nursing in Duluth where she received her nurses training. She was employed by St. Luke's Hospital from 1940 to 1944, and returned there in 1965, and worked until retiring in 1978.
Margaret was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, where she was a Eucharistic Minister and a member of the Serendipity Club. She was also a member of the Duluth Curling Club, Duluth League of Women Voters, Duluth Lioness Club, Lester Park and Enger Golf Courses, and the Garden Club. She also volunteered at the Damiano Center. She enjoyed gardening, golfing, curling, sewing, and cooking.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, William, son, Steven, brothers, Bud and Bill, and sisters, Elaine and June.
Margaret is survived by her children, Mary Bradley of Duluth, Joann (Paul) Lippitt of Madison, WI, Richard (Marion) Bradley of South Range, WI, and Keary Bradley of Duluth, 11 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren, sister, Ellerine Krispin of Roseville, MN, and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation: 10 am, Saturday, September 22, 2012 until the 11 am Memorial Mass at St. Michael's Catholic Church, 4901 E. Superior St., Duluth. Burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery, Duluth. Arrangements by Dougherty Funeral Home (218) 727-3555.
