Margaret Carlson

Margaret "Peggy" P. Carlson, 87, of Duluth, passed away peacefully, with family by her side, April 30, 2018.

Peggy was born in Cloquet to Joseph and Margaret Pastika, on November 5, 1930.

She graduated from Cloquet High School, and then worked at Northwestern Bell for nine years, where she met the love of her life, Bill, and they were married shortly after on September 7, 1957.

She was very active in the First Lutheran Church.  She served on the Board of Youth, Church Council, Call Committee, Alter Guild, Wedding Coordinator, Women’s Circle, and Fall Festival.

Peggy enjoyed arts and crafts, but most important to her was her family, and spending time with them.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Roland, Edwin and Joseph Pastika.

Peggy is survived by her loving husband, Bill; children, Mark (Jodi), Tracie (Gregg) Steinman, Janelle (Ray) Buske, and David (Susan); grandchildren, Jason (Stephanie), Amanda (Josh), Julie (Evan), Kelsey (James), Chloe (Luke), Brianna, and Ryan; great-grandchildren, Paxton, Josephine, Declan, Scarlett, Audrey, Henry, Layla; brother, James (Claire); and numerous nieces and nephews, family and friends.

The family would like to thank the staff at 7 floor West at St Luke’s, and Ecumen Lakeshore for their excellent and compassionate care of Peggy.

Visitation will be 5-7PM, Monday, May 7, 2018 in the Dougherty Funeral Home, 600 E 2nd Street, Duluth, MN 55805, visitation will continue 10AM, Tuesday, May 8th, until the 11AM Memorial service at First Lutheran Church, 1100 E Superior St, Duluth, MN 55802.
