Margaret Collard

Margaret Ann “Peggy” Collard 88, of Duluth, passed away on Monday July 17, 2017 at Viewcrest Health Center.  She was born in St. Paul, MN on February 13, 1929 to Earl and Bernice Coverdale.  Margaret had worked as a Teacher’s Aide with School District 709, and as a LPN at St. Mary’s Hospital.  She was a member of St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church and the Slovenian Women’s Union, Branch #33.  Margaret loved to catch and eat fish, the color purple, drinking tea, reading, rummage sales, playing cribbage, hunting, and most importantly spending time with her family.  The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the Benedictine Adult Day Care, the Essentia Infusion Center, and to the staff at Viewcrest Health Center

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, husband Victor, brothers Earl Coverdale and Fr. Gerald Coverdale.

Margaret is survived by her children Melvin (Gina) Collard of Cedar Park, TX, Phillip (Sara Isham) Collard of Nett Lake, MN, Robert Collard of Pendleton, OR, Donald (Tammy) Collard of Duluth, MN and Sandra (Patrick) Baumann of Virginia, MN, 12 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, brothers John (Virginia) Coverdale of Excelsior, MN, and Dan Coverdale of El Toro, CA, and many nieces, nephews, and foster children.

Visitation will be held from 10AM until the 11AM Mass of Christian Burial in St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church.  610 99th Ave. West, Duluth, MN 55808, on Saturday July 29, 2017.  Inurnment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Superior.  In honor of Margaret please wear purple or fish print clothing.  Arrangements by Dougherty Funeral Home.  600 E. 2nd Street, Duluth, MN 55805.  218-727-3555.
