Margaret Franckowiak

Margaret M. Franckowiak, 87 formerly of W Pioneer Rd. died Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at Edgewood Vista, with her family by her side. Margaret was born in Duluth to Peter and Katherine Trader. She met John Franckowiak and they were married on June 26, 1948. Margaret was an active member in St. Joseph's Church in Gnesen; where she was a member of its women's guild and helped serve funeral lunches for many years.
She and John were avid dancers; she enjoyed gardening, farming and most of all spending time with family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Peter and Katherine; mother and father in laws, John and Frances Franckowiak; siblings, Frank, John, Stephen, Alexander, Peter and Stanley Trader, Frances Garasha, Kate Pucuski, Florence Anderson, Anna Trader, Mary Mosiniak, Rose Bosiacki, Cecelia Gufrovich, Lucille Trader, Leona Trader and Barbara Pinto.
Margaret is survived by her husband of 65 years, John; daughters, Gloria (Paul) Kaneski and Cecelia (Ronald) Hegel; sons, Stephen (Karen) Franckowiak and Jeffery Franckowiak; granddaughters, Melissa Franckowiak, Karly (Jeremy) Fritz, Lacey Franckowiak and Angela Becker; great grandchildren, Ally Fritz, Chance, and Maxwell Becker and Sydney Becker; sister, Angie Hill; brother, Walter (Jessie) Trader; sister in law, Helen Franckowiak and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the staff at Edgewood Vista, with a special "thank You" to Essentia St. Mary's Hospice (Becca) for the loving care of Margaret and John.
Visitation will begin Saturday with a Rosary Recitation at 10am with Mass of Christian Burial at 11am at St. Joseph's Church, 6110 Church Rd. Gnesen, where burial will follow at the church cemetery. Arrangements by Dougherty Funeral Home, (218) 727-3555.
