Margaret "Peggy" Hoene passed away unexpectedly on Thanksgiving Day, at the age of 75. We are heartbroken and cherishing the joy she brought to our family with her many "Peggyisms". i.e., "Some people like pie, and some don't. I…DO!”
Peggy was developmentally disabled from birth, but grew up happy, living at home with her family throughout her youth and early adulthood. Later, she moved to a state facility before permanently moving to her Swan Lake group home. While living there, she worked at Airpark for several years.
We are FOREVER GRATEFUL to her many incredible and loving caretakers, past and present, as well as to her coworkers who so graciously helped her over the years when she was working at Airpark.
Peggy loved music, equally enjoying the symphony and hard rock, with her favorite band being Def Leppard. She also loved wild animals (especially big cats), German shepherds, pleated skirts, sparkling jewelry, leopard-patterned anything, old westerns, cheeseburgers, coffee, pop, and her all-time favorite, French Silk pie.
Peg also enjoyed regular car trips with her family whether it was to the zoo, Wendy's, a concert, or a trip to the magazine section at Barnes and Noble.
She loved being with her family at all holidays, birthdays, outings, and even on web phone calls with family all over the world. She was a joy to be around and will always be our Thanksgiving angel.
Peggy is preceded in death by her parents Margaret and Philip Hoene, and her sister, Nancy. She is survived by siblings: Betsy (David) Martin, Phil Jr. (Ann), Kevin (Fran), Barbara Dawson, Susan (Reggie) Boyle, Dick, Nina (Mark) Novitzki, Laura (Johnny) Cross and nieces and nephews: Greg (Shelbi) Benson (Kalena), Charlie (Amy) Dawson (Ruby, Lilu), Katie (Jeff) Green (Ava), Phil (Yukiko) Dawson (Kenna Margaret), Mike Novitzki, Joe Novitzki, Georgina (Phil Boileau) Boyle, Arthur (Carly) Boyle, Kaitlyn (Kim) Orosco (Ollie), and many loving cousins and extended family.
