Marie graduated from Duluth Central in 1935 and then attended the College of St. Scholastica for two years. Changing her course to secretarial, she then attended and graduated from Duluth Business College.
Marie worked at Retail Credit Co. for six months and then was called to work in Washington D.C. for the War Department, (now the Pentagon). Her future husband followed her there.
Marshall and Marie were married July 3, 1941, in Washington D.C., returning to Duluth in April of 1942. Marie was a stay-at-home mother raising three children, David, Elaine and Claudia. In January 1964 Marie went to work for St. Louis County Social Services for 18-1/2 years, upon her retirement.
Marie and Marshall traveled in the U.S.A., Hawaii and Jamaica until Marshall's death in 1989. She loved and cared for her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren very much. She lived on the famous Wilkyns Avenue in Hunters Park for over 61 years.

Marie is survived by her son, David M. (Darlene) Meidal, of Litchfield, Minn; daughters Elaine (Chuck) Davidson of Lake Nichols and Claudia (Gene) Alvar of Duluth; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She had many friends and family that loved her. The family would like to thank the staff and friends at Primrose, her spiritual family at Gloria Dei Church, Essentia hospice team and Rose from Home Instead.
