Marie E. Paler

Former Educator

Marie Paler age 79 died on December 13, 2013
at Solvay Hospice House in Duluth
MN after a long battle with
breast and bone cancer. Marie was born November 29, 1934 on a farm in rural
Otter Tail County Minnesota. She graduated from Perham Minnesota
High School in 1952. She
attended college at Moorhead
State University
and received a Bachelor of Science Degree and later a Masters Degree. She
taught in various locations throughout Minnesota,
Wisconsin and North Dakota and retired in 1993 after
completing 26 years of teaching in the Duluth Public Schools.



She was united in marriage to Lloyd D. Paler
on December 26, 1959. They were married 43 years until Lloyd's death in
December 2002.



Marie enjoyed gardening, cooking, reading,
traveling, and spending time with her family especially her grandchildren.
Marie was a member of the Duluth Area Educators Association, Alpha Delta Kappa,
the Women's Educational Sorority and a member of Mount Olive Lutheran Churches Rebecca Circle.




Marie is preceded in death by her parents,
two brothers and other relatives.



Marie is survived by her son Lee, formerly
from Southern California, daughter Linda Sowl and husband George of Duluth, MN,
her grand children's mother Jennifer Paler of San Diego,
CA, grandson Alexander of San Diego, CA, and
granddaughter Paige also from San
Diego, CA. She is
also survived by her sister-in-law Katherine Boss of Underwood, MN, nephew
Brian Boss of Fergus Falls,
MN, nephew Steven (Sue) Boss of
Austin, MN, and nephew Andrew (Lisa) Boss of Worthington, MN. Also surviving
are sister-in-law Carol Abbott (Robert) of Wahpeton, ND and family, special
friend Ardell Teige of Duluth,
MN and numerous other relatives
and friends.



In accordance with her wishes there will be
no memorial or funeral service. Burial will be beside her husband at the St Paul's Lutheran
Church Cemetery
located at 500 6th Ave. SW
in Perham, MN 56573.


Memorials can be given to Mount Olive
Lutheran Church
located at 2012 East Superior St.
Duluth, MN 55812 or to the donor's choice.
