Mario Gigliotti

Mario J. Gigliotti, 66, of Talmoon, MN, formerly of Sandstone, MN, passed away Monday, July 15, 2019, at Essentia Health St. Mary’s Medical Center in Duluth, MN.

Mario was born May 15th, 1953 to Grace and Joseph J. Gigliotti in Sandstone, MN. Mario graduated from Sandstone High School in 1971. Mario worked as a baker at Cassidy’s in Hinckley and Chris’s Grocery Store in Sandstone. Mario lived the final years of his life in Talmoon, under the care of George and Iris Frank.

Mario enjoyed building model trains and airplanes, watching the Twins and Vikings, Star Trek, laughing, smiling, drinking Pepsi and loved food of any kind.  Mario had a heart of gold for humans and animals.

Mario was preceded in death by his mother, Grace Gigliotti; father, Joseph J. Gigliotti, and brother, Thomas Gigliotti.

Mario is survived by his brother, Michael (Nancy) Gigliotti of Fairbanks, AK; sister-in-law, Lynne Gigliotti of Grand Rapids, MN; niece, Amanda (Adam) Gigliotti-Leppala of Duluth, MN; nephew, Joseph W. Gigliotti of Grand Rapids, MN, cousins, aunts and uncles and caretakers, George and Iris Frank of Talmoon, MN.

Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, July 25th at 10:30 AM at Dougherty Funeral Home (600 E 2nd St, Duluth, MN) with visitation one-hour prior at the same location. Burial at Spring Park Cemetery in Sandstone Thursday at 2:30pm.
