Mari Pat Stelton Ochs, 48 of Grand Lake, formerly of Hermantown, died suddenly Thursday, March 29, 2018 at Essentia St. Mary’s with her family by her side. Mari was born July 21, 1969 in Duluth to Don and Pat Stelton and she was a graduate of Hermantown High School. Mari moved to Hawaii and met the love of her life, Paul Ochs and they were married August 25, 1995, moving back to Hermantown to start and raise their family. Mari was a loving and devoted Mother, Wife, Daughter, Sister and Aunt . Mari worked for the Hermantown School District while Kaylin and Kori were in school there and was currently working for Lots for Tots. Mari loved that store as if it was her own. Mari loved hockey with a capital H. She followed Hermantown, UMD, Pittsburgh Penguins and most recently the New York Rangers. She also enjoyed water, whether she was collecting Lake Superior glass or enjoying her shoreline of Grand Lake. Mari also was a proud Organ donor since 1988.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Zoe Paternal Grand Parents Ray and Irene, Maternal Grandparents Henry and Margaret and her uncles, Dud, Bill K, Don, Robert, Norman and Bill B.
Mari is survived by her husband, Paul; children, Kaylin and Kori; parents, Don and Pat; sisters, Dawn and her husband Mark and Rae and her husband Tom; her dog, “Billy”; nephews, Matthew, Lucas, John and niece, Tia; great nephews, Markie and Tommy and many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and Friends.
A Celebration of Mari’s life will be held on July 7 th at a yet to be determined location. In lieu of flowers the Family asks that you make a donation in Mari’s name to the Friends of Animals Humane Society, 1418 Hwy 33 S., Cloquet, MN 55720.
