Bolf
God called Marjorie T. Bolf, 98, on November 30, 2013. She was born on July 11, 1915 in Carlton, MN to Otis and Theressie (Peacha) Mclntire, the oldest of their ten children. Marge moved to Duluth, lived at the YWCA and attended Duluth Business School, then worked at a local bank before marriage. On June 1, 1940 she and Charles S. Bolf wed and started their own family where she devotedly raised and cared for her four children in their home on E 4th street. Marge appreciated the many memories made during their 50 years living in their beautiful home. She was the matriarch of her family and was always ready to help anyone in need, offering them a room to stay or homemade food. Her signatures were bananas, her favorite health food, or a loaf of her homemade Anadama bread. Every summer she gathered her sibling's families together for reunions.
Marge lived a rich full life and filled it with many good friends along the way. She was grateful for her relationships and times with family and friends. Marge especially enjoyed her times playing: golf, bridge, downhill skiing, and dancing with Charlie.
She loved going out to lunch, Bridge at The Women's Club, spending time at the Simm's Lake cabin and at The Land, singing in the Maribelles of St Mary's hospital, cooking family dinners, and spending time with Charlie in their later years visiting Bella Vista, Arkansas in the winter.
Her family would like to thank the staff of Mt Royal Pines 2 and 3 and the Benedictine Health Center (BHC) and Essentia Health Hospice Care for their kind and excellent care of Marge and her husband Charlie. She and her family have met so many special people along this journey of elder care. During the past 9 years, Marge lived at the BHC and received the most loving, generous care. God Bless them all and all those willing to share their knowledge with us who had walked this path before us. We are greatly appreciative of each of you and your generous service to Marge and our family.
Marjorie was preceded in death by her loving husband of 66 years Charlie; son, Stephen; 3 brothers, and 6 sisters.
She is survived by, her son, Charles O. (Ces); daughters, Mary (Paul) Gundersen, and Janet Keller; daughter-in-law, Mary Lou Bolf; 8 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
Memorials to Gracewood at BHC.
