Marjorie Segel

Marjorie Joan Segel, 87, of Duluth MN, went to her Lord on September 27, 2019 in Duluth, MN. Joan, as she was known, was born in Duluth MN to Dennis Patrick Mahoney and Dorothy Slaird Mahoney on June 11, 1932.  She was a proud Hilltopper graduating from Duluth Cathedral High School in 1950.  Joan married the love of her life, James Segel, on October 19, 1968 at Our Lady of Mercy on Park Point. She spent much of her working life in the banking world where she worked at Northern City National Bank as Secretary to the President and then managed the Northern Pacific Federal Credit Union for many years. More importantly, Joan loved people and parties.  Whether it was a reunion or a dinner party, she always wanted to get people together.   She was known for her infectious laughter, sharp sense of humor and extraordinary cooking talents.  Joan was an active member of St. Lawrence Church for over 50 years. Joan was preceded in death by her parents, Dennis and Dorothy Mahoney and her step-sister, Darlene Cich. Joan is survived by her husband of 50 years, James Alois Segel and daughter, Ann-Marie Segel Stojevich (Daniel). Rosary service 9:30 a.m. with visitation 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial Friday, October 4, 2019 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church. 2410 Morris Thomas Road.
