Marlene (Malzac) Sipila

Passed away April 21, 2025 at the age of 77 surrounded by her loving family.

Marlene was born October 18, 1947 to Angus and Florence Malzac. She graduated from Central High School and married her beloved husband on October 1st 1966. Together they raised 3 daughters and enjoyed their 13 grandchildren.

Marlene was a homemaker and devoted mother and grandmother, she prided herself in making a happy home and became a surrogate mom and grandma to many. She was born to be a mom. Marlene enjoyed spending time crocheting, baking and caring for her pets.

She is preceded in death by her husband, David and her parents. She is survived by her daughters, Julie (Robert) Lambert, Deborah (John) Specht and Katri Sipila; grandchildren, Brenda, Stephen, Allison, Zil, Rachel, Peter, Juniper, Nathan, Calliope, Jaz, Lief, Leo, Sage, and Merissa and 12 great-grandchildren.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00am on Friday, May 2, 2025 at Dougherty Funeral Home, 600 E. Second Street, Duluth, MN with a Visitation beginning at 10:00am. Burial at Calvary Cemetery, Duluth.
