Marlys E. Lindberg, 88 of Cloquet, formerly of Duluth died Wednesday, December 10, 2014 at Inter-Faith Care Center, Carlton. Marlys was born March 22, 1926 in South Haven, MN to Herman and Hertha Muehring. She graduated from Fargo High School and went on to meet and marry, James Lindberg on May 2, 1948 in Fargo. Marlys worked for many years as a secretary at Dr. Bagley's Office. She was a member of Mount Olive English Lutheran Church and when they moved to Cloquet in 2011 they became members of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church in Esko. Marlys and Jim were members of the Teamsters Retirees Club and they loved to travel in their RV to Arizona and watch and listen to Minnesota Twins Baseball.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Robert Muehring.
Marlys is survived by her husband, Jim; sons, Richard (Maxine), of Minnetonka, MN, John (Barb) of Esko and James II of Princeton, MN; sister, Darlene (Richard) Moretti of Lodi, CA; three grandchildren; two step grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Sunday from 3-5pm in the Dougherty Funeral Home, Duluth. Visitation will continue Monday from 12 noon to the 1pm Funeral at Mount Olive English Lutheran Church, 2012 E Superior St. Duluth, MN 55812. Burial at Sunrise memorial park. Memorials are preferred and may be directed to Mount Olive English Luther Church or St. Matthews Lutheran Church, 4 Elizabeth Ave., Esko, MN 55733.
