Mary Jane Beaumier, the heart and soul of our family, died on April 15, 2016 at the age of 78. She touched the lives of so many and will be deeply missed.
Mary Jane was born in Cloquet, MN on July 8, 1937 to Joseph Evelyn and Mary Emerald McKenna. Early on, it became clear she was a scholastic and social standout and would go on to do great things. Mary Jane attended Marquette University in Milwaukee where she met her spouse of 57 years, John Beaumier. An only child, she went on to have nine children, and provided all of them with a happy childhood and even more guidance throughout their adult lives.
Mary Jane was Irish through and through, with a quick wit and kind spirit. No matter her surroundings, she was quick to make friends, and lots of them; just a fun person to be around. She lived a full life, with great memories of the ups (and even the downs) of her children, raising them in the great state of North Dakota, and many trips to Ireland with her husband. She enjoyed many retirement years, first in Rochester, then Cedar River MI (near Escanaba), and finally in Duluth, collecting many cherished friends along the way.
She was predeceased by her youngest son, Paul, in 1980. Mary Jane is survived by her loving husband, John; her children Jack (Stephanie) of Bexley, Ohio, Anne (Michael) Ritz of Cleveland, Dr. Pat (Blesie) of Cascade, Michigan, Mike (Chris) of Palm Springs, CA, Matt (Renee) of Duluth, Casey of Boston, MA, Colin of Fargo, ND, Katie (Daniel Winter) Ryan of Ann Arbor, MI; and 12 grandchildren: Madeline, Devin, Zoe, David, Michaela, Evan, Julia, Nicholas, Henry, Claire, Abby, and Maggie; her brothers in law: Joe Grondine and Arnold Taylor, both of Escanaba; and nieces and nephews.
