Mary Lu Kindgren

Mary Lucille Kindgren

July 24, 1941 – July 30, 2024 

Passed peacefully at Diamond Willow Assisted Living, Proctor. Mary Lu was born in Bayfield, WI, to Ervin and Anna Gautsch. She worked as a cashier at Piggly Wiggly, bartended, sold pull tabs, and was a teller at Proctor Bank. She was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church, the Proctor Moose Lodge, American Legion, and was the chairperson for the committee that brought cable TV to Proctor in the 1980s. Mary Lu enjoyed a good meal, golfing, and watching television. 

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Robert Gautsch.

She is survived by her children Debbie (Tim) Hickey, Mary Kindgren, Becky Lundberg, Chris (Irene) Kindgren, Eric Kindgren; grandchildren Aaron Parendo, Ryan Kindgren, Nick Balduc, Ben Kindgren, Lily Kindgren, Kash Kindgren, Gabe Kindgren, Kohen Kindgren; 8 great-grandchildren; siblings William Gautsch, Betty Waldhalm, Toni (Dennis) Birchland, David Gautsch; many nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to St. Croix Hospice and Diamond Willow, especially Haily, for the kind and compassionate care she received.

Visitation will be held on Friday August 23, 2024 at 10AM with Memorial Service to follow at 11AM at Williams-Lobermeier-Boettcher Funeral Home. 3208 W. 3rd St. Duluth, MN 55806.
