Mary A. Milbrath, 97, formerly of Hermantown, died Thursday, Nov. 18 th at North Shore Estates with family and friends by her side. Mary was born May 24, 1924, in Duluth to Arthur and Selma Olson. She was raised in Hermantown and graduated from Proctor high school. Mary met Cyril “Cy” Milbrath and they were married on Sept. 25 , 1942. After seeing her husband through his advanced degree and raising her sons, she took a job as secretary to the Hermantown principal and was also the Audio-Visual secretary for many years. She was a former member of Grace Lutheran Church and currently a member of New Life Lutheran Church. Mary enjoyed her gardens, raising and picking blue berries, entertaining family and friends at Crystal Lake, doing crafts, growing orchids and photography which she excelled at. Her photos are being enjoyed by many.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Selma; brother, Murry Olson and her husband Cy.
Mary is survived by her sons, David (Diane) Milbrath and Dean (Diane) Milbrath; her granddaughter, Holly (Eric) Larson, great granddaughter, Ingrid, one sister-in-law and her nieces and nephews.
Services are planned for spring. Burial will be at Bethany Cemetery. Memorials are preferred and may be directed to, New Life Lutheran Church, 2521 Miller Trunk Hwy Suite 1, Duluth, MN 55811 or to the charities of choice.
