Mary Ann Prettyman

Mary Ann (Gay) Prettyman passed away peacefully on September 22, 2024. 

She was born in Highbridge, WI to James S Gay and Marie E (Farley) Gay on February 18, 1935. She graduated from Ashland High School, then receiving a Bachelor's degree from Northland College in Ashland and her Masters in English from UMD. 

She married Donald Prettyman in June 1954 and they resided in Wisconsin and Michigan until settling in Duluth in 1970.

Preceded in death by father, James; mother, Marie; step-mother, Anna (Lebeda); brother, John (Jack) Gay; sister-in-law, Janet (Bloomquist) Gay; infant son, Jeffrey; and husband Donald. 

Survived by daughter Patrice (Jon Atkinson) Prettyman-Atkinson; nephews, Doug Gay and Brian Gallagher; and several great-nephews.

No service is planned. Private family interment at a later date.
