Mary Wilson

Mary Ellen Wilson, 77, of Duluth passed away peacefully with family by her side on Tuesday, June 12, 2018.  She was born in Duluth to Erwin and Ellen Wentzlaff on July 31, 1940.

Mary Ellen grew up in Deerwood, MN and graduated from Crosby- Ironton High School.  She attended St. Luke’s School of Nursing.  She then met and married the love of her life, Richard Wilson.  Mary Ellen worked most of her nursing career at St. Luke’s and Miller Dwan.

She enjoyed gardening, time at the cabin, playing bridge (belonged to many clubs), cooking Sunday dinners, and most importantly spending time with her family and friends. She opened her home to guests and was very giving.

She is survived by her children, Sue (Steve) Arnold, and Brad (Sally) Wilson; grandchildren, Mia Arnold and Sarah Wilson; good friend, Paula; and numerous, nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

The family would like to thank the staff at Ecumen Lakeshore and Dr. Gene Karwoski.

Visitation will be 5-7PM on Wednesday June 20, 2018, in Dougherty Funeral Home, 600 E 2nd Street, Duluth, MN 55805, visitation will continue Thursday June 21 from 9AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 10AM, In the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Rosary, 2801 E 4th St, Duluth, MN 55812, burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
