Mary J. (Roehl) Zbaracki (89), passed away on Thursday, February 20, 2014 at the Fountains at Ecumen Lakeshore in Duluth surrounded by her loving family.
Mary was born on July 17, 1924 in Osakis, MN, to George and Odelia (Rothmeyer) Roehl. She grew up in St. Paul and graduated from St. Paul Central in 1942; she also attended the University of Minnesota.
On September 10, 1949 she married Thomas Zbaracki of Duluth, where they made their home in Woodland, and raised 9 children.
Mary was a homemaker and a Dental Assistant for her husband Tom. She was a member of St. John's Catholic Church in Woodland and their Rosary Society. Mary and Tom enjoyed traveling, cruises and bus trips. Her favorite place was the cabin on Lake Elora, where she enjoyed sailing, fishing, and being with Tom and all of their kids and grandkids.
She was preceded in death by, her parents; daughter, Terese LaPlante; grandson, Edward Zbaracki; and sister, Margaret.
Mary is survived by, her loving husband of 64 years; sons, Thomas Jr. (Dee), Michael (Nancy), John (Cindy), Robert, William (Elaine); daughters, Marion, Jean (Jeff), Barbara (Pete); 13 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren; brothers, Jack (Shirley), Robert (Pauline); sisters, Jean, Barbara (Jim); numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.
The family would like to thank the caring staff at Ecumen Lakeshore.
She will forever be loved and remembered by her family and friends; especially all her friends at The Crest at Lakeshore.
Visitation will be on Sunday, February 23, 2014 from 3-5PM with the Rosary starting 4:30PM at the Dougherty Funeral Home, the visitation will continue Monday at 10AM till the Mass of Christian Burial starting at 11AM, at St. John's Catholic Church, 4230 St. John's Ave Duluth, MN 55803.
