Mary Lou Solem, 83, of Duluth, died Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2020 in her home after a short illness, with her family by her side.
Mary Lou was born June 26, 1937 in Duluth to William and Frances Abrahamson Sr. She met, Clifford Solem and they were married December 1, 1956.
Cliff and Mary Lou started and ran Cliff Solem and Sons. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Church in Gnesen; she loved to create stained glass; boating, fishing, dancing, cooking, monthly cousins’ luncheon and antiquing, but most of all, spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Frances; her brothers William Jr. and Oscar “Joe” Abrahamson and her husband Cliff in January.
Mary Lou is survived by her children, Jeffrey (Nancy) Solem, Phillip Solem, Nina (John) Sharp, Nancy Solem, Mitch Solem and Angela Solem; grandchildren, Phillip Solem, Eric Solem, Amber (Manual) Mendoza, Paul Solem, Steven Johnson, David Johnson, Joshua (Sandra) Solem, Annette (Allen) Beckman, Nichole Willis, Zachary Kiser, Mary Kiser and Abigail (JD) Ramirez; great grandchildren, Nathaniel, Hailey, Kaitlyn, Anna, Cody, Megan, Selah, Lasha, Zachary, Eva, Victor, Mason, Ali, Kora and Olivander; her sister, Marcy Early; sister in law, Carolyn Abrahamson and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She will be greatly missed.
