Maureen Ryan

Maureen Frances Ryan, 80, of Duluth, MN., passed away unexpectedly in her home, on June 4, 2023. She was preceded in death by her parents Philip and Margaret Ryan, brothers Tom and Pat Ryan, infant sister Rosella Theres Rayn, and sister Bernadine (Ryan) Kujawa, and long time partner Thomas Planton. She is survived by her daughter Michele (Ryan) and Justin Higbee, her grandchildren Brekklin Ryan, Shalin Boltz, Justinn Lynn (Higbee) and Seth Brown, Ashton Higbee, Ravin Higbee and Barak, Talin (Higbee) and Robert Motich.  Greatgrandchildren, Trinity Lynn Ryan, Adaline Brown, Roanan Motich, and soon to be born, Theodore Brown.  Also survived by her living brothers and sisters Dan and Linnea Ryan, Mike and Katie Ryan, Eileen (Ryan) and Dennis Scheunemann, Kathleen (Ryan) and Greg Sicotte, Helen (Ryan) and Dennis Sullivan, Colleen Arfman (Ryan) and brother in Law, Danny Kujawa, her long time best friend Lois Hamlin, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Maureen graduated from Denfeld High School in 1961, and went to nurse’s training at St. Luke’s School of Nursing Hospital where she worked for most of her 35 year long nursing career. She retired in 2002.  She loved to go to the Huskies baseball games, listening to old country music and was very involved in her church.
