Maxine Sjelin

December 2, 1932 — February 5, 2018

Maxine June Sjelin, 85, of Duluth, passed away peacefully on Monday February 5, 2018 in her home.   She was born in Coloma Twp., MI on December 2, 1932 to Bert and Seville Nelson.  Maxine was a homemaker.  She was 60-year member of the River Church, and a member of the Glad Timers at the Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, granddaughter Lindsay Miketin, several siblings, and in-laws.

She is survived by her husband Donald, children Beth (Tim) Brock of Winter Park, FL, Mark (Gail) Sjelin of Duluth, Carol Brigan of Duluth, Gregg Sjelin of Duluth, and Jill (Anton) Miketin of Esko, 15 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild on the way, a brother Dean, sisters Linda and Sally in MI, brother-in-law Bob Sjelin, and sister-in-law Alta Sjelin.

Visitation will be held on Thursday February 8, 2018 from 5PM to 7PM in Dougherty Funeral Home.  600 E. 2nd St. Duluth, MN 55805.  Visitation will continue Friday February 9, 2018 from 10AM until the 11AM Funeral Service in the River Church, 1902 E 4th St, Duluth, MN 55812.  Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.  Arrangements by Dougherty Funeral Home.  218-727-3555.
