On April 13, 2013, Maxine Taylor went home to heaven. She was born and raised in Duluth living out her entire life in Minnesota. The last few years she resided in the Twin Cities area.
Maxine was the foundation of our family's unconditional love and had limitless love to give. She was not only a mother of eight, a grandma, a great-grandma, she was also a foster mom, celebrated neighborhood mom, adoptive mom and grandma.
Our mother was an inspiration to her family and neighborhood and received recognition in the Duluth Community for her outstanding volunteer work and service. Maxine was strong, giving, kind, outspoken, and had a great sense of humor. She graduated from Duluth Cathedral High School, attended St. Scholastica, and pursued work in the healthcare and human service fields.
Maxine is preceded in death and is greeted in Heaven by Jesus, her mother Anna Johnson, husband Paul Taylor, Jr., son Terrence Martin Taylor, granddaughter Tanya Michelle Byers, and brothers Robert and Maxell Johnson. Maxine was born on the same day and passed on the same day as her twin Maxell.
Maxine is greatly missed by her children, Paul Taylor III, Carolyn (Christopher) Anderson, Alice (Kevin) Taylor, Melissa Taylor, David, Bruce, and Edward Taylor, grandchildren, Jacquelyn (Keith) Snodgrass, Trey (Jill) Taylor, Trina (Brian) Taylor, Brandon (Rana) Byers, Tylor (Shokoufeh) Taylor, Tyann Taylor, Andrea Potter, Darris Garner, Tamika Taylor, Tyrah Taylor, Chelsea Spellerberg and Nicole and Haylie Taylor, great-grandchildren, Alexandria Watczak, Maya and Brooklyn Schietel-Taylor, Shantik Taylor, Imani Snodgrass, Vida and Taya Byers, Javon Farrell, and Julius Garner, siblings, Everett (Joanne) Johnson, Gertrude Foster, Anna McClinton, son-in-law, Jerry Byers, daughters-in-law, Stacy and Debra Taylor, foster children, David Hutchinson, John Verrill, and scores of nieces, nephews, and friends.
