Michael Olson

Michael D. Olson, 63 of Duluth, passed away on Tuesday April 7, 2015 in the Solvay Hospice House. He was born in Duluth on August 31, 1951 to Harvey and Thelma Olson. Mike was a member of the Air National Guard, Forbes United Methodist Church and the Church Choir. He had worked at Fraser Shipyard as a Welder. Mike was an Eagle Scout, and Scout Master in Proctor, and an avid outdoorsman.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife Barbara, children Matt, Kate, and Jeff all of Duluth, step-children Ben (Michelle) Bourman of Sparta, WI, and Abby Bourman of Eagen, MN, brothers Terry (Nancy) of Duluth, and Steve (Diane) of Sturgeon Lake, sister Connie Olson Stanley of Proctor, several nieces, nephews and his extended family.
The family wishes to give a special Thank You to the staff at Solvay Hospice House for their kind and compassionate care.
Visitation will be held on Saturday April 11, 2015 from 1:00PM until the 2:00PM Memorial Service in Forbes United Methodist Church, 33 Grove St. Proctor, MN 55810. Burial will be in Augustana Lutheran Cemetery. Military Honors will be accorded by the Duluth Honor Guard.
