Michael Ray Slotness, 59, of Duluth, died Friday, November 12, 2021 at home of natural causes. He was born February 24, 1962 to Gordon O. and Darlene V. (Melander) Slotness. He was a Duluth East High School graduate. Michael had worked as a cook at Grandma’s and at the former McClean’s Steak House. He also had worked as a cabinet maker. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing in the Boundary Waters and sailing and fishing on Lake Superior on his family’s boat. He also enjoyed skiing in MT. Michael was preceded in death by his grandparents, uncle Arvid Slotness, and mother Darlene on December 31, 2020. He is survived by his father Gordon, his sister Suzan (Mark) Johnson of Duluth, his brother Mark of Three Forks, MT; nieces and nephews: Steph (Zac) Bentz, Shane (Asmaa Elkeurti) Johnson, Neil Slotness, Nichole (Mike Racette) Hagadorn, Eirik Slotness, Steph (Casey) Dearhamer and Pauline (Brandon) Forsythe; and grand nieces and nephews.
