Muriel Ann Kreager, 97, died peacefully Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2023. She was born in Duluth MN, March 31, 1926, the daughter of Aime and Rose DeSmedt and was a lifelong Kenwood resident. Muriel began writing to Bern Kreager during WWII, fell in love and upon his return, married April 24, 1946, enjoying 50 years together.
Many happy times were spent with family and friends entertaining at their cabin they built on Island Lake. Muriel loved to travel, good food and had numerous hobbies. Most notable was folk painting, spending countless hours in her painting room. She truly enjoyed company, the house and cabin were always open for visitors.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Aime and Rose; in-laws, George and Mollie; husband, Bern; and daughter, Leslie. She is survived by her son, Dale and wife Wendy; grandsons, Kevin, Ryan and wife Kim; great granddaughter, Abbie.
Family wishes to thank the staff at Keystone Bluffs, St. Lukes Hospital Hospice and all her special friends who loved her and helped her live in her home until she was 96. A gathering of family and friends will be held Wednesday, January 3 from 11:30-1:30 at the Pike Lake Golf Event Center, 4895 Midway Road, with lunch served.
