Norman A. Smith, age 34, Grand Portage, formerly of Duluth, passed away on Sunday, June 16, 2013 at his home.
Norman was born August 15, 1978 in Duluth, Minnesota, the son of Norman Smith and Kimberly Laitinen. He grew up in Duluth. Norman lived in several communities and worked at various jobs. He recently moved to Grand Portage. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Sharlean Laitinen.
Norman is survived by his children, Markiss and Damien Smith of Grand Portage, Kaylin Smith of St. Cloud, Novena Smith of Bemidji, and Tatiana Smith of Minneapolis, mother, Kimberly Smith of St. Cloud, father, Norman Smith of Clearwater, MN and sister Morning Star Smith of Duluth.
Visitation: 3-7 pm Friday, June 21, 2013 at Dougherty Funeral Home and will continue on Saturday, June 22, 2013 from 1 pm until the 2 pm funeral service in the funeral home. Burial at Park Hill Cemetery, Duluth. Arrangements by Dougherty Funeral Home (218) 727-3555.
