Oscar Abrahamson

Oscar J. (Joe) Abrahamson, 65 of Howard Gnesen Rd. died Saturday February 18, 2012 at St. Lukes Hospice surrounded by his family. Joe was born March 1, 1946 in Duluth to William and Frances Abrahamson. He married Carolyn Gilbertson on September 30, 1967. Joe was a welder, having started Joe?s Welding which is now called Northern Welding. He had to retire in 1996, when his eyesight failed. Joe enjoyed riding motorcycles and 4-wheelers; he liked to travel, both as a welder and to vacation and he loved the outdoors.He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, William.Joe is survived by his wife, Carolyn; sons, Brad and Bobby (Nicole); his two granddaughters, Marissa and Lily and his sisters, Mary Lou (Clifford) Solem and Marcy (Harry) Earley.The family would like to thank the staff at St. Lukes ICU and Hospice for their loving care of Joe.Visitation will be Tuesday from 5-7pm in the Dougherty Funeral Home, where visitation will continue Wednesday from 12 noon to the 1pm services.
