Patricia Modeen

Patricia Mary "Patt" Modeen, 68 of Duluth died Saturday, April 30, 2016 AT St. Luke's Hospice with her family by her side. Patt was born September 4, 1947 in Duluth to Raymond and Lucille Henricks. She was a 1965 graduate of Morgan Park High School. Patt married the love of her life, Paul Modeen in Duluth on October 7, 1967. She worked as a receptionist for Dr. Maryland and then as a medical transcriber for 41 years for St. Luke's Hospital. Patt and Paul were affiliated with Northern Granite. Patt was a member of St. Mary Star of the Sea Church and was active with Paul in the VFW. Patt enjoyed Antiquing, reading, writing, watching sports and most importantly touching a person's heart through the words she would put on her beautiful cards. You almost didn't want to open the gift it was wrapped so beautifully. She also was known for her keen memory. Patt enjoyed volunteering at Circle of Hope and the Lake Superior and Mississippi Railroad.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Lucille and her nephew, Craig Hendrickson.
Patt is survived by her husband, Paul; brother, Paul (Bev) Henricks; sisters, Kelly (Don) BeBiaso and Cheryl (Todd) Lipppman; extra special and wonderful niece, Amy Henricks and many other nieces, nephews and friends, she will be greatly missed.
Visitation will Wednesday, beginning with a Rosary at 4:30pm and visitation continuing to 7pm in the Dougherty Funeral Home. Visitation will continue Thursday from 9:30am to the 10:30 Am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, 325 E 3rd St. Duluth, MN.
